Home

I love our space with you in it

It feels good to rest after years adrift

My eyes find a home in your eyes

Every breath has synced so perfectly with regard to yours

And what is mine is willingly given and is now ours

I am filled with wonder when I look at you

How is it possible to feel so intensely the way I do?

I am consumed and on the edge of madness

At peace yet occasionally in extreme distress

Helpless and hopelessly in love with you

Beautiful and inspiring muse.

Night and Day

My memory loves you
In windbrushed colour and glorious hues
It asks about you all night and day
Hovering fondly over your gentle ways
It curls around in appreciation of each act of kindness
And shimmers brightly in the haze of sumptuous kisses
Tangles and knots with patience undone
All battles are lovingly and quietly won
You are a divine and consuming magic
A mystery solved by love and not logic.

A Bitter Chill

It’s cold here where you leave me
It’s cold when you are done

A slow breath
A soft touch
A lingering kiss goodbye
He turns and I am no more

It’s cold here where you leave me
It’s cold when you are done

Bitter choking
The prickling creeps
Ghostly scents warm and sweet
I breathe it in before it’s gone

It’s cold here where you leave me
It’s cold when you are done.

Off The Edge

At the edge I stand holding your hand

Our bodies sway to the soundless band

Of the earth restlessly spinning

Eyes always returning to you

Is this love or just a phase?

Will I fall break and shatter

Into pieces that will cease to matter

All the while humming this phrase

Do you see the night sky my love?

Stars parading to the sound of your voice

Bright moon waxing and waning at your command

All following the rise and fall of your hand

I step in rhythm until the sudden drop

Ground vanishing before I stop

Breathless panic giving way

Mind always returning to you

Is this love or just a phase?

Will I fall break and shatter

Into pieces that will cease to matter

All the while humming this phrase

Head aloud with stuttering pain

Rushing wind pulsing a refrain

Trembling limbs flailing out

Arms always returning to you

Off the edge I fall holding your hand

Our bodies sway to the soundless band

Of the earth restlessly spinning

Heart always returning to you.

Black Rainbow

Dancing through the night again

A moaning hunger grown

The shards of broken shell remain

Where love had once been known

Now there’s just the quiet rythm

My silent lullaby

Filling the empty spaces

I breathe and do not live

Too afraid to go to bed

The cold my grinding grief

Sliding pain surrounds me

Trailing threads of rank desire

Regret is the colour black

The rainbow of my fire.

Running Away

To have no responsibility.

No choices to make but where to sleep, what to eat and whether to turn left or right
To offer oneself to the chaos of the universe.
To take the opportunity to remember one’s identity without being hampered by the expectations of others.
To test, reinvent, improve oneself.
This is rest I take when I run away.

An Autumn Prayer

An invitation to dance the autumn wind
Confused the leaves resist then tremble
Waiting patiently to turn autumnal
The final dance in a whirling frenzy
As each leaf dies and learns to fly
With each death there is a word
And with each word I summon thee
Round I spin with each textured colour
Arms out wide to catch the whirling fair
To bring forth life from the dreams I weave
So I may know the silence of calm reprieve.

A Fragile Man

He is neither this or that or here nor there
His best intentions are for himself
And if convenient for someone else
His opinions move to extremes in one blink of an eye
His mood swings upon the metronome
In presto or allegro
He’s a man of thoughtless manners
And of a fragile ego
His home is with the easily deceived
Of the hopelessly manipulated
He concerns himself with how he is seen By the pulsing world at large
He maintains the ordinary to cover his tracks
And carefully constructed lies
And for a challenge and stimulation
He sees an opposite in someone just like me
It would be true to say I’m not
A good enough grade of stupid
Not good at all and too good for him
For I see and point out the darkness
He carefully wraps within
All the while uncovering the treasure
Of the glimmers hidden in.

The Ride

And let no one in or yourself out
It’s just a space full of nothing
An emptiness beneath your skin
Face pressed against the window pane
You’ll watch the colours fade to grey
You’ll never catch the ever changing wind
If you stubbornly choose to stay
So open your eyes to the rising sun by day
And dance with me in the moonlit night
With the bright starlight to guide you
Be present and feel the joy of being alive
No more shadows to haunt you now
Relax and enjoy the ride.

Wasting Away

No better and an endless waste
Nothing to erase the bitter taste
Of this torture I endure
While I pray for a cure to cure
This wasting away of my sad soul
An agony that cannot be consoled
All I can do is to be true to my heart
Do what it tells me right from the start
Till the day I draw my last breath and depart
The wasting away of a loving heart.
